Support What Makes the New River Valley Stronger, Together
Did you know the New River Valley TimeBank was originally created to help elderly folks live longer, healthier lives in their homes?
Over the years, we’ve discovered something beautiful—timebanking is for everyone! No matter your age, background, or skill set, being part of a timebank helps us all build a more connected, caring community. Today, we’re more than a skills and services exchange. We’re growing a regional movement rooted in mutual support.
Our five focus areas reflect the practical and powerful ways we show up for one another:
- Timebanking: A way to give and receive help where everyone’s time is valued equally.
- Home Maintenance & Repair Courses: Building skills and confidence for safer, more independent living.
- Public Living Rooms: Free, welcoming spaces where neighbors become friends.
- Tool Library (Coming Soon!): Borrow tools instead of buying—save money, reduce waste, and share resources.
- Repair Cafés: Don’t toss it—fix it! Bring your broken items and learn how to repair them with community experts.
We do all this with no staff—and your support makes it possible. If you believe in neighbors helping neighbors, if you’ve benefited from one of our events or exchanges, or if you want to see the New River Valley continue to grow as a place of generosity and belonging, please consider making a donation. Even a small gift makes a big difference in keeping our programs running and accessible to all.
